It is one of the longest established pen manufacturing companies in Japan.
In its long history, the company has made a number of advanced inventions and left its mark in the writing instrument industry of Japan and the world as well.
In 1999, OHTO developed a new concept "NEEDLE-POINT" in ballpoint. It is a combination of oil-based soft ink and a needle shaped tip.
In this ballpoint pen, the tip is changed from the conventional cone shape to a pipe like needle shape. It secures a wide field of view at the time of writing, making it easy to see the pen point.
